Salute to Veterans

Our Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day, the day the guns fell silent ending WW I. It occurred at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, in the 11th month of 1918. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to “honor American veterans of all wars.” A guard patrols the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Coronado Island Film Festival falls over the Veterans Day holiday and to recognize our veterans CIFF hosts a Salute to Veterans that will include a concert with the 45-piece Coronado Concert Band for a poignant musical tribute to our veterans and a special Military Art installation by Joe Pisano and other special guests. FREE and open to the public. Reservations are required.

Location: 650 D Ave, Coronado, CA 92118
