DANTE’S INFERNO celebrates Joe Dante”s trademark cinema.
Writer, Director, Filmmaker, Animator and Podcast host, Joe Dante will present an overview of his impressive body of work spanning decades by sharing examples of his own creative visions that were turned into film classics and unforgettable original TV series. His film narratives explore the subconscious areas where dreams, fears and fantasies live. The exploration into his quirky and fantastic storytelling will include a Q+A and open conversation with attendees seeded with personal anecdotes to help filmmakers realize their own unique cinematic personality. His solo feature credits include The Howling (1981), the It’s A Good Life segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983), Gremlins (1984), Small Soldiers (1998), Looney Tunes: Back In Action (2003), most recently a segment of the anthology film Nightmare Cinema 2018), CSI: New York (2007), Hawaii 5-0 (2011 – 2017) and MacGyver (2016). He also directed Netflix’s first streaming project, Splatter (2009), an interactive horror comedy.
