”Lane Five” focuses on the deeply complicated changing of the guard between parent and child. The days when parents can no longer fully care for themselves and children step in to help.
Madison is one of those children.
After placing life on hold to care for her father Tommy, she struggles to deal with the day to day of caring for a parent with Alzheimers, all while trying to cope with the idea of losing her father to dementia before he”s even really gone.
On a particularly bad day, Tommy vanishes from his usual spot in front of the tv when Madison”s back is turned. She tracks her father down to the town”s local bowling alley. At lane #5 the two of them share what might be some of their last lucid moments together as father and daughter.
