FREE COMMUNITY EVENT:
Tech experts sounded the alarm on the dangerous human impact of social media. Now it’s time to talk about it.
On November 15th at 11:30AM, we’re bringing together multidisciplinary experts for must-have panel discussion on The Social Dilemma film. They’ll bring their insight; you bring the questions.
Send in your thoughts and questions to email@example.com. If you haven’t seen it already, you can watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix before the panel.
As social media continues to rapidly advance, we need to pause and thoughtfully consider the kind of power social media has– mentally, relationally, politically, and beyond. The Coronado Film Festival is partnering with Coronado SAFE with the hopes that The Social Dilemma will spark conversation at home with your family and the Coronado community at large at the Panel Discussion. Parents and whole families (ages 13+) are especially encouraged to attend together as we know the challenges of navigating the ever-changing landscape of both raising youth and being an adolescent.
No matter what stage of life you’re in, if you’re on social media, this event is for you.
About The Social Dilemma: The technology that connects us also controls us. It polarizes us, distracts us, and monetizes us. Discover what’s hiding on the other side of your screen. We tweet, we like, and we share— but what are the consequences of our growing dependence on social media? This documentary-drama hybrid reveals how social media is reprogramming civilization with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations. Watch now on Netflix and register for The Coronado Film Festival Panel on November 15th.
